Nezha

Overview: Quick and versatile, this support orientated frame can still deal a lot of damage, while able to withstand a fair amount himself – in many ways, he feels like a wizardly version of Rhino. Blueprints can be researched and bought in your clan laboratory. Prime: Nezha prime is currently available from relics dropped in missions or via Syndicate relic reward packs. The prime version comes with improved armour and sprint speed. Special: Reduced friction allows Nezha to skid around at high speeds – I personally don’t like this, but a lot of people I’ve talked to swear by it, … Continue reading Nezha

Granum Void

The Granum Void is unlocked upon finishing the The Deadlock Protocol, a quest available from your codex. Playing the minigame associated with these mystical arcade machines can get you some nice rewards, including high-tech weaponry, cosmetics or even Protea. Granum Void access is granted by interacting with the golden hand statues found on Corpus ship missions (like Fossa on Venus) and paying a Granum Crown (dropped by treasurers on those same maps) to open a portal for your group. Higher level treasurers will drop a higher grade of crown that opens a higher difficulty Granum Void that gives different rewards. … Continue reading Granum Void

Yareli

Overview: A watery trickster accompanied by a literal “skate-board” Yareli is a fast moving and deadly crowd-control frame. Her blueprint is obtained by completing the Waverider quest for the Ventkids of Fortuna, while her components can be researched and built in the labs of your clan dojo. The Waverider: To obtain Yareli, one must complete a series of tricks using a K-Drive. This can be pretty frustrating if you’re not deeply invested in the K-Drive scene, so here’s a few tips: Grind on the small wall around the “Pearl” (west of Fortuna on the Orb Vallis) for a long trick … Continue reading Yareli

Banshee

Overview: A sound themed frame that can apply devastating debuffs but can’t take much retaliation. Blueprints can be researched in the Tenno lab of your clan dojo. Prime: Banshee prime is currently vaulted, meaning that you’ll need to ask clanmates and friends, consult the trading channel or wait for an unvaulting event if you want this variant. Special: All weapons brought by Banshee or her companion are treated as silent. Not a huge advantage, but useful for stealth missions with long range weaponry. Pros: Absurdly high damage multipliers through Sonar (2) stacking, good crowd control options and the ability to … Continue reading Banshee

Chroma

Overview: Building massive defensive and offensive bonuses from taking damage, this draconic frame can endure or annihilate almost any opponent. Chroma can be acquired from “The New Strange” in your codex. Prime: Chroma prime is currently vaulted, meaning you’ll need to bug clanmates and friends for relics, keep an eye on the trade channel or wait for an unvaulting event. Special: Chroma can extend spectral wings, allowing him to perform an extra double or bullet jump. In addition, Chroma can cycle the colour of his abilities by using Spectral Scream (1) altering their energy properties – as a broad explanation, … Continue reading Chroma

Frost

Overview: One of (if not the) best defence frames in the game, Frost applies crowd control, damage, support and a spherical shield of ice in combat. He’s not fast on his feet, but who needs to dodge when the enemy is frozen solid? You can pick up Frost in the dual boss fight on Ceres. Prime: Frost prime is currently vaulted, meaning that you’ll need to ask friends and clanmates if they have relics, consult the trade channel or wait for an unvaulting event. Special: Melee attackers have a 10% chance to be frozen. A very poor passive that might … Continue reading Frost

Fortuna & Orb Vallis

Situated on Venus and accessible through the Fortuna mission node, Orb Vallis is a massive open-world expanse of icy mountains, Orokin artifice and corpus industry. An introductory quest is available from Eudico in Fortuna, that will reward you with a K-Drive, access to the Solaris United syndicate and a Garuda blueprint. The enemies you face will be from the corpus faction, including some rather dangerous robotic proxies – expect them to hit hard and disable powers with Nullifier and Scrambus units! Bounty missions are the primary activity type on the Vallis and can be picked up from Eudico, sitting beside … Continue reading Fortuna & Orb Vallis

Gauss

Overview: Gauss manipulates kinetic and thermal energy to speed across the battlefield, projecting fields of fire, armouring himself in force and smashing into hapless foes. Pick up his blueprint on the market and his components on Kelpie, Sedna. Prime: Ironically it’s going to be some time before Gauss prime reaches us. Special: Gauss charges his battery as he moves, granting him a faster shield recharge rate and a reduced delay before recharge begins. This is surprisingly good at keeping you alive as long as you keep moving. Pros: Fast, durable and capable of regenerating energy via Kinetic Plating (2) providing … Continue reading Gauss

Mirage

Overview: The killing joke, Mirage conjures illusions and bombs to cause havoc wherever she appears. Capable of huge damage and mass crowd control, she can be acquired from the Hidden Messages quest available in your codex. Prime: Mirage prime is currently vaulted, meaning you’ll need to bug friends and clan members for relics, dip your toes into the trade channel or wait for an unvaulting event if you want to obtain her. Special: Mirage performs manoeuvres 50% faster and slides for 85% longer. It doesn’t sound that great, but it does quite a bit for you parkour mobility. Pros: A … Continue reading Mirage

Excalibur

Overview: Excalibur and Excalibur Umbra are the sword-masters of Warframe, dashing across the battlefield, blinding foes with a flourished blade and wielding a summoned weapon of energy. Excalibur is both simple and flexible, and can be acquired from Lech Kril on Mars, or chosen as your starting frame. Excalibur Umbra is rewarded during “The Sacrifice” quest. Prime: While Excalibur prime does exist, it was provided as a reward to those who joined the founders program nearly a decade ago – and since that was effectively a contract, it cannot be added to the game. On the plus side, all players … Continue reading Excalibur
