Overview: Bind enemies in spectral chains, restore health and energy, convert shields to attack and reload buffs, or provide temporary invulnerability with a retaliatory critical chance buff. If this support frame sounds good, obtain the blueprint from the Chains of Harrow quest, the chassis from void fissure enemies, the neuroptics from spy missions on the Kuva Fortress, and the systems from defection missions.
Prime: Harrow prime is currently available, and boasts improved shield and energy capacity over the normal version. Relics that can contain his components can be obtained as mission rewards or from syndicate relic packs.
Special: Higher over-shield capacity than normal, that can also boost the effectiveness of your powers.
Pros: Great squad support, with radial invulnerability, forced critical attacks, energy and health restores, and so on. Some cheap crowd control from Condemn (1) also.
Cons: Needs to be dealing damage (preferably head-shots) to really shine, completely dependent on weapons for damage.
Powers: Condemn (1) foes in a frontal cone, wrapping them in chains, setting them up for lethal headshots and granting Harrow shields/overshields for every enemy trapped. A solid crowd-control and defensive power. Slotting the Tribunal augment will allow Harrow’s allies to gain a 50% version of any ongoing Penance (2) and Thurible (3) effects when attacking Condemned (1) targets.
Penance (2) consumes your shields and overshields to grant a bonus to fire rate and reload speed along with a 5% lifesteal effect that also heals nearby allies. Duration increases depending on the total shields consumed.
Thurible (3) charges up an aura, granting allies energy for every enemy killed by Harrow – with headshot kills granting even more. The more energy you invest into Thurible (3) the greater the reward for a kill. You can also use the Warding Thurible augment mod to grant you and nearby allies damage reduction while winding the ability up.
Covenant (4) is the star of the show, granting yourself and nearby allies invulnerability for a brief period and converting damage taken into a critical chance bonus on expiration. You can modify how this ability works with the Lasting Covenant augment, increasing the duration of the critical chance bonus for every headshot kill – but beware, the ability cannot be recast while active, which can be a problem if you need the invulnerability!
Opinion: Harrow is an interesting support frame that rewards accurate gun-play with absurd damage buffs and impressive healing capability. In many ways, you could think of him as a weapon focused version of Equinox. He brings a great deal of utility to a group and I’d recommend him if you’re a good shot looking for a support frame that will perform well against assassination targets and Eidolons. However, if you favour explosives or prefer a spray and pray approach, you may have a bad time with this one.
