Overview: Khora specialises in damage and crowd control. Tangle enemies in whips and nets, leaving your prey helpless as you send Venari in for the kill. Get the blueprints from the basic Sanctuary Onslaught game mode.
Prime: Khora Prime is currently obtainable from void relics, and enjoys improved armour, shields and energy. Khora Prime is accompanied by Venari Prime with improved health, armour and damage.
Special: Accompanied by Venari, a moddable kavat that can be re-summoned if defeated. Venari has the same base stats as a normal kavat and does not take up your companion slot. In addition, Khora moves faster while Venari is active.
Pros: Superb crowd control options, good damage potential when used well, decent durability, can distract or heal using Venari, able to farm additional resources.
Cons: Powers are short ranged, fully modding Venari will consume a lot of forma.
Powers: Flay foes with Whipclaw (1) dealing damage in a small area around the target point and benefiting from your equipped melee mods. The ability comes with a base critical chance of 25%, a x2 critical multiplier and 20% status effect chance, so consider modding building for critical hits. This simple but powerful ability interacts with Ensnare (2) or Strangledome (4) and using the Accumulating Whipclaw augment will grant a damage bonus if you hit three targets at one. Consider using the Jaw Sword alongside this ability – it has access to the unique mod “Blade of Truth” and the maximum Riven disposition!
Bind foes in place with Ensnare (2) turning an unlucky victim into a living trap that periodically draws and binds other foes that get close. This is a potent crowd control tool, and doubles the damage affected targets take from Whipclaw (1) and Venari. Whipclaw (1) will also refresh the ability, causing it to drag nearby foes into the chains.
Command Venari (3) directly, placing a mark on a target to her to focus on and finishing the cooldown on her current stance power. Holding this ability will allow you to cycle through three stances for Venari: damage (flurry) control (periodic disarm) or healer (healing aura) so you can adapt to any situation you find yourself in. Furthermore, you can cast this ability to revive Venari, or equip the Venari Bodyguard augment and have Venari sacrifice herself to prevent you being downed.
Finally, Strangledome (4) casts a large mesh of chains that grab any foes foolish enough to get close, dealing physical damage over time, confusing foes and doubling the damage they take. Casting Whipclaw (1) on a suspended target will apply half the damage they take to all other suspended foes, and you can gain extra drops if you equip the Pilfering Strangledome augment.
Opinion: Khora is a crowd-control powerhouse and can do surprisingly heavy damage if you can bunch up targets – so defence and survival missions synergise well with her kit. She is an acquired taste and getting her parts can be a pain, but Khora is an obvious pick for anyone that wants an extra pet!
